Coming up in the Potter Class…

I hope you are all having a good half term despite the weather. Next week the children will be diving headfirst into new topics…In Literacy they will be learning to write letters. As part of this the Potter Class will be looking closely at the features of different types of letters.

Meanwhile in Maths, the children will be collecting data and learning more about interpreting information in bar charts and pictograms.

We start a new topic in Science…Characteristics of Materials.

Our new and final Theme topic will be Kings, Queens and Castles and next week we will be learning about early castles in the Middle Ages, focusing on the Motte and Bailey castle.

This term Year 3 will be going on a school trip to Windsor Castle on Thursday 10th July…more details to follow upon your return to school.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday,
Mrs Godfrey.

Science and Seuss

Today, we read a story by Dr Seuss, ‘Bartholomew and the Oobleck. As part of Science week we then made our own oobleck out of cornflour, water and food colouring. We thought up ways to describe the oobleck then made up our own short stories about it.
