Science – learning about light sources.

The Potter Class really enjoyed looking at ‘Alien Attack’ on a website to help them learn about light and wanted me to post it on the blog so they could have a go at home!  Here is the site:  Another site where they can read up about light is:

Learning in lessons

In maths we will be learning about more about measuring…time and time intervals, mass, converting kilometres and metres, and estimating and measuring length. There are many websites where the Potter Class could practise some of these things if they have a spare moment.
In Literacy we start work on non chronological report writing. Over the next 4 weeks, we’ll be exploring books, websites and tv broadcasts and the children will work towards presenting their own broadcasts, and writing factual reports.
Our science topic is light and shadow. Although there is not much sunlight around at the moment, we’re hoping to explore how shadows change during the day, and how light can be reflected. Fingers crossed for more sun!
Children will be having swimming lessons every Monday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 for the next 5 weeks. Please could you send their kits in big strong bags as they will need to keep all their clothes in them while they swim. Children all did really well today and have been put into their swimming groups. We aim to be back at school each Monday for around 3:25
It was lovely to meet with all of you at parents’ evening. If there is anything You wish to discuss, please don’t hesitate to come and see me after school. Best wishes, Mrs Godfrey.
